Established in 1979, Buddies is Toronto’s leading destination for artistically rigorous alternative theatre and a world leader in developing q***r voices and stories for the stage. Through a year-round program of q***r theatre productions, new works festivals, artist residencies, and intergenerational training and education initiatives, Buddies continues to nurture artists and connect communities.🫂

In its 47-year history, Buddies has welcomed more than one million people through its doors in the heart of Toronto’s Q***r Village and premiered over 1,000 new works for the stage—making it the largest and longest-running q***r theatre company in the world.
