Colour. Layers. Light. Transparency.

I started creating work in my “Revival” series, four years ago, with the goal of introducing more colour into my painting practice. These two pieces, “Refraction” 2 and 3, stand out as some of my most vibrant yet balanced works, blending earthy tones with pops of colour. Achieving harmony in my palette is key. My goal is to create pieces that energize, while still maintaining a sense of groundedness and calm.

I was happy to showcase these two at last weekend.

It’s been such a busy time in life. Art creation has been occurring in baby steps. I’m slowly compiling some pieces for the upcoming Artist Project March 26-29. All works will be in my “Revival” series, characterized by transparent and layered bands, swaths, and curves of colour. If you’ve followed me for long enough, you will know that my work spans several different styles, from landscape to fluid and layered abstracts. This will be the first show that I’m focusing on one style of work. I’m excited to put together a cohesive presentation of this series, but it also feels a little strange to not be representing the full spectrum of what I create. That said, I have some great pieces in the line-up that I’m quite proud of and am looking forward to sharing with you.
