Quarantine rules for India

Which Indian city are you travelling to?

Entry requirements in India vary depending on your destination.

Mumbai
You need to pay for a 7-day institutional quarantine before undergoing a COVID-19 PCR test on the last day. Subsequently, a mandatory 7-day home quarantine is required, if the test result is negative.

Delhi
You must carry a copy of the photo identification page of your passport and hand this to authorities on arrival. You’ll then need to take a self-paid COVID-19 test before you leave the airport. You can pre-pay for this test or pay on arrival.

A 14-day home quarantine is mandatory, regardless of the test result. The state may ask you to undergo institutional quarantine based on contact tracing.

Hyderabad
You must print three physical copies of the Government of India’s self-declaration form to show on arrival. You’ll then need to take a self-paid COVID-19 test before you leave the airport.

Bangalore
You’ll need to take a self-paid COVID-19 test on arrival and can leave the airport only after receiving a negative result. The wait time for the COVID-19 test report at the airport is currently six hours.

Chennai
You must register your travel on the State Government website to obtain an e-pass. Please keep a copy of your e-pass to show on arrival. You’ll then need to take a self-paid COVID-19 test before you leave the airport.

For transit through Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai or Bangalore
You’ll need to pay for and take a COVID-19 test on arrival. Please allow at least eight hours for the negative test report to be delivered before you can board the next flight.

The State regulations at your final destination will be applicable, which may include institutional quarantine.
