Per Elliotte Freidman, Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar is expected to stay this season as HC.
This upcoming season will be the final under Bednar’s current contract, so now the focus is wondering if Bednar gets an extension over the course of the season or if they elect to search for a new Head Coach down the line next summer.

Avalanche have signed G, Nikita Novosyolov to a 2 year entry level contract starting in the 2026-2027 season.

Novosyolov, 21, has spend the last 4 seasons moving between the MHL, VHL, and KHL in Russia (Compared to North America the MHL is equivalent of the CHL, VHL compared to the AHL, KHL compared to the NHL).

Last season Novosyolov posted a 14-4-5 season with a .934SV% in the VHL in only 25 games and took a step up this past season recording a .932SV% and 2.1GAA in 40 games played all for Gornyak-UGMK.
