BOC increased rates by another 50 points yesterday and this will definitely affect anyone looking to get approved or anyone on a variable rate mortgage. Although this is one of several rate hikes this year, it was expected across the board. Trigger rates are all the rage and a hot topic right now, if you are going through any financial hardship make sure to speak with your mortgage broker or bank because there are usually options available to help you.
And anyone who got a pre-approval earlier this year will likely have to get an updated one!
