An unexpected bill. A rent increase. A cost that simply can’t wait.

For some Humber students, these challenges can put their education at risk. The rising cost of living and recent changes to student financial aid are placing increasing pressure on students who should be focused on learning, not worrying about how they’ll afford rent, groceries, textbooks, or transportation.

Emergency bursaries help students facing urgent financial hardship cover essential expenses so they can stay in school and continue pursuing their goals.

Every gift helps students move forward with confidence — show your support today!

Service takes many forms. For Austine, it meant transitioning from a Police Captain in the Philippines to a Nurse in Canada.

Austine chose Humber to begin his next chapter in healthcare. He took the leadership skills he learned in law enforcement and pivoted to nursing, bringing his dedication to healthcare’s frontlines.

Since graduating, he has accumulated an impressive list of honours for his service in nursing, including the 2026 Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) of the Year, the King Charles III Coronation Medal, the Toronto Star Florence Nightingale Award, and the 2026 Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards.

“Beyond my workplace, I remain active in community service and advocacy, helping internationally educated nurses navigate their journey toward professional integration and success in Canada.”
His story is a reminder that nursing is as much about the heart as it is about the science.
