Wire Worms emerged from the Leeds underground scene in 2023. The six-piece explores traditional music from Britain, Ireland, and the Isle of Man through a lens shaped by black metal, experimental noise, and prog rock, avoiding folk-revival nostalgia in favour of something distinctly their own.

With the voices of Newcastle-born Jasmin Brown and Manx singer Luke Carroll at the forefront, and featuring members of Tristwch y Fenywod, Hexham Heads, and S**t Theatre, the group reimagines folk songs and medieval literature to reveal their enduring strangeness and relevance.

Their album, Beneath the Eildon Tree, explores prophecy, madness, and millenarianism by following the figure of Thomas the Rhymer through 800 years of unfolding eschatological visions. Binding these distinct prophecies is an ambiguous utopianism - a deep desire for the world to be made anew and stripped of its imperfections. However, this longing carries a dark undercurrent of metamorphic violence, acknowledging that a perfect new world can only be born through the destruction of the old.
