The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (.ontario) provides oversight of Ontario's laws about the way institutions may collect, use, and disclose your personal information. Their annual report summarizes all the work they've done to advance access to information and the protection of privacy rights. It highlights crucial issues the public should know about, discusses government initiatives, and shares important tribunal decisions.

The IPC came to us for a refresh—they wanted something bolder, more contemporary, structured, and utilizing their brand colours. We implemented a colour-coded sectioning system to help the reader navigate the dense and complex information in the 84 page report. We leaned into our editorial expertise to improve the flow for an enhanced reader experience and created a new icon system and look & feel for infographics and data visualizations. Overall, the result is an impactful piece of communication rich with data.

For this feature in the Movement Issue of magazine, we reached out to photographers far and wide— in Walla Walla, Washington, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and in Denver, Colorado—to capture engaging portraits of alumni who have made bold career shifts in their life journeys. Seamless backdrops were incorporated as props in each location, providing a twist and continuity to the series.

Photo-illustrations using pickup headshots of the remaining alumni were created in-house, and spot illos by add some energy throughout.
