Leadership in Action Interview Series - Episode 1: Where Change Starts
What does real system change look like?
š For Camillo Cipriano, it began with a clear focus: āWe started with our sphere of influence⦠our principals.ā
Rather than trying to change every classroom at once, they invested in leadershipābuilding shared language, using data, and focusing on short learning cycles.
Over time, the impact showed up where it matters most: in classrooms. š

Weāre excited to celebrate the Niagara Catholic District School Boardās steady progress in mathematics! š
This yearās EQAO results show that:
š 76% of Grade 3 students
š 61% of Grade 6 students
in the district met or exceeded the provincial standard, both well above the Ontario provincial averages of 64% and 51%, respectively.
These achievements reflect the hard work of Niagara Catholic teachers, school leaders, and students.
Over the past few years, Niagara Catholic educators have been using Knowledgehookās Short Learning Cycles to support math learning in a research-based, highly responsive way. Teachers completed more than 3,600 learning cycles, helping students gain confidence and improve their understanding of key concepts.
A special thank-you to Director of Education Camillo Cipriano and Superintendent Kim Kinney for championing this work, and to every teacher who continues to make a difference in studentsā lives. š
Weāre honoured to be part of this journey!
