Pet Appreciation Week (PAW) is all about celebrating the animals who make our lives better in countless ways. This week, we’re highlighting a few of our lovely feline patients: sweet 🐈‍⬛ Luna, and brothers Miso & Soy. 🐱🐱❤️

Luna (Moo Moo), a 1.5 year old Maine C**n was very happy to come see Dr. Kneebone for a consultation, while Miso and Soy stopped by for their annual exams. 🩺✨ Cats are also very good at hiding pain and illness, which is why regular veterinary care and paying attention to subtle changes can be so important. 🐈

We feel very lucky to care for these wonderful feline patients and to support cats and their families through all stages of life with our full-spectrum integrative veterinary care. 💚🐾

A little behind-the-scenes look at some exciting changes happening at TIAH! 🛠️✨🐾

We’re currently renovating and expanding our clinic to create even more space to do what we do. This includes adding an additional exam room, building a new interior hallway connecting reception to our second and third exam rooms, along with fresh paint and updated cabinetry throughout the exam spaces. 🎨🚪

We’re excited for these improvements as we continue working to create a welcoming, functional, and comfortable environment for both our patients and the people who love them. ❤️ We can’t wait to share the finished result with you!

We made over 5️⃣0️⃣ sandwiches on Friday, April 24th, for Ve’ahavta! 🥪💛 Every day, volunteers make and drop off homemade sandwiches and baked goods that Ve’ahavta’s outreach vans distribute, along with other essentials, to people facing homelessness. Giving back is an important part of who we are, and Ve’ahavta is one of the charitable organizations that TIAH is proud to support. 🤝✨

For cats, core vaccines include Feline Rhinotracheitis (Feline Herpesvirus-1), Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (FVRCP), and Rabies.

In addition to vaccine titre testing, we are also offering optional wellness lab testing to provide a more comprehensive assessment of your pet’s overall health. 🐾

Arthritis in cats is more common than many people realize. 🐱💛 In fact, many cats show signs as they age, but because they are so good at hiding pain, it often goes unnoticed.

It does not always look like limping. Subtle changes like jumping less, grooming differently, or becoming quieter can be early signs of discomfort. These changes are often mistaken for “just getting older,” but they can be your cat’s way of telling you something is not right. 🐈

At TIAH, we take an integrative, holistic approach, combining conventional and complementary care to support mobility, comfort, and quality of life at every stage. ✨Because early recognition can make all the difference. 🐈‍⬛💚

Your pet’s diet can look like it’s working and still not be quite right. 🐾 Many pet parents feel reassured by normal stool, good energy, and a shiny coat. Those are all important but they don’t always tell the whole story. Subtle shifts in appetite, behaviour, or daily habits can be early clues that something needs attention. 👀

At TIAH, we take an integrative approach to nutrition, looking at the full picture to support each pet as an individual. Because the goal isn’t just maintenance, it’s comfort, energy, and quality of life! 🙌💚

April is Heartworm Awareness Month! 🦟❤️

Heartworm disease is spread through mosquito bites and can affect the heart and lungs of both dogs and cats. 🐶🐱 Signs may include coughing, fatigue, or breathing changes, but many pets show no symptoms early on.

The good news is that it’s preventable with the right plan. At TIAH, we take an integrative approach to parasite prevention, including heartworm protection, tailored to your pet’s lifestyle. Contact us to schedule an in person or virtual parasite prevention consultation. Let’s keep your pets safe this season. 💚
