The officer in the second pic- in Spanish “your clothes caught my attention, I have never seen a woman on the beach dressed like this- where are you from?”
Me- I’m a Sudanese Canadian and I’m dressed like this because I’m Muslim.
Him- It’s the first time in my life I meet a Muslim.
Me- no way
Him - Nunca en la vida real (never in real life) 😊.
Moral of the story - to my ladies in Hijab we are walking dawah 🤍. I loved how interested people were in my hijab here🤍.
It’s easier to share statistics and headlines of the war in Sudan, but behind every number is someone’s loved one. And one of those numbers is my beloved uncle Mohammed Jaffer (Allah yerhamo).
I’ve been holding onto his story for a long time but he deserves to be remembered and honoured like the many we’ve lost to this cruel Waر. May Allah have mercy on them and accept them as martyrs, and protect everyone still struggling to find peace and a place to call home. 🇸🇩
