You are running the models, building the forecasts and sharing findings with leaders across the business. When leaders are moving from insight to decision, is FP&A in the room?

That question sits at the center of our 2026 FP&A Impact Report. Vena surveyed over 400 global finance leaders across industries to benchmark how teams are performing, where they are getting stuck, and how the most mature FP&A functions run their operations differently.

The findings are worth exploring for any FP&A team who wants a seat at the table.

Finance teams need to spend more time decisioning and less time manipulating data.

With Vena and Microsoft Copilot, Formula Help brings that goal into reach. Describe the calculation you need and Copilot builds the formula. Describe a change and it edits your existing formula. Because Vena is native Excel, this runs inside a governed planning environment where data is centralized, outputs are auditable and every change writes back to a single source of truth.

Less time on formula construction means faster paths from data to decision, reducing the decision latency that slows your business down. With Vena, every AI capability in Excel runs on a data foundation finance can trust and act on.

Hot off the press: Vena’s 2026 FP&A Impact Report is here.

Based on insights from over 400 finance professionals, here are the standout findings:

- AI mandates are outpacing data readiness: 70% of respondents say their CFO has introduced mandates for Finance to adopt AI, but only 42% have fully integrated, insight-ready data

- Nearly half of FP&A teams are seeing revenue forecast variances of greater than 6%, with data quality issues being a likely culprit

- The most popular tool for budgeting and forecasting is still spreadsheets, reported by 61% of respondents, with enterprise companies being among the biggest Excel power users

What an incredible week at the Gartner® Finance Symposium/Xpo™ in National Harbor. It was great connecting with finance leaders navigating the shift from planning to performance in a rapidly changing environment.

Melissa Howatson’s session, “From Planning to Performance — The Next Operating Model for Finance,” sparked important discussions around AI investment, governance and what it takes to move from insight to on-time ex*****on across the business.

We also had some great conversations at the Vena Booth around how finance teams are orchestrated planning, decisioning and close inside the Microsoft ecosystem to operate with greater speed, agility and confidence.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to connect with the Vena team.

The gap between insight and on-time ex*****on is critical for performance. Orchestrated performance bridges that gap.

At Excelerate, Andrew Stanbridge, SVP of Product at Vena, laid out the four prerequisites for orchestrated performance:planning that happens where work does, orchestration that brings people, processes, data and AI together, a governed data foundation that finance, business and IT can trust and write back to, and a context-aware intelligence layer that knows your entities, your structure and your business logic.

These four things don't work in isolation. On-time ex*****on depends on all of them being in place. Vena is built around exactly that architecture.
