Entryways get destroyed really quickly, so when I was designing ours, I knew I wanted to make it as bulletproof as possible.

On one side, we have a very hardworking piece of millwork that’s wrapped in faux leather. I chose it because it’s so resistant to scratches, marks, and dirt. I actually tested the material with a knife before I ordered it just to make sure it could stand up to everyday life. And if it gets dirty, we can just scrub it clean.

On the other side, we originally had drywall. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do, so we left it for a while. It didn’t take long for it to start getting marked up and looking terrible, so we replaced it with these oak wall panels. They bring warmth and texture, help define the entry a little better, and hold up to wear and tear so much better than drywall ever could.

If you’re planning an entryway, think creatively about the materials you’re using. It’s one of those decisions that makes a big difference in how your home holds up over time.

Save this for your renovation plans, and share it with someone who’s designing an entryway.

I don’t think bathrooms get enough credit.

The kitchen gets all the attention. The living room hosts the guests. The dining room gets the holiday photos.

Meanwhile, the bathroom quietly works overtime. It’s often the first room you walk into every morning and one of the last before bed.

That’s a lot of responsibility for one space. Which is why we believe bathrooms deserve the same thoughtful attention as any other room in the house.

Beautiful finishes. Smart storage. Durable materials. A layout that actually supports how you move through your routine.

Be honest…how many mornings start with “Where did I put that?” The favourite sweater. The shoes you swore were right there. The bag that seems to disappear every time you’re running late.

Most people think they need a bigger closet, but more often they just need a better one.

We’ve designed countless custom storage spaces, and the frustrations are surprisingly similar every time. Not enough room, awkward layouts, wasted corners, and nowhere for the things people actually use every day.

Thinking about making your home work a little harder for you? We would love to help. Get in touch via the link in bio.
