The best type of cardio you can do is the one that works for you. If you'd like to run, run. If you like the elliptical, use the elliptical. If you like dance, dance. Exercise should be enjoyable, and it's only when we're doing something that we like, that we can be consistent enough to get the full benefit of what exercise can do for us and our well-being.

What is your favourite form of cardio?

There is no perfect posture, but we should always be working on the muscles involved. Here are some exercises that strengthen and stretch muscles that are involved in encouraging better posture. Give them a try!

Why is Chiropractic Care helpful?

Chiropractic care focuses on how the spine, joints, and nervous system work together. When joints aren’t moving well, it can lead to pain, stiffness, and altered movement patterns elsewhere in the body. Chiropractic treatment aims to restore normal joint motion, reduce irritation to surrounding tissues, and improve overall function.

At First Line Physiotherapy, chiropractic care is commonly used to treat back and neck pain, headaches, shoulder and hip issues, and movement-related injuries. It’s often combined with exercise therapy, soft tissue treatment, and education to support long-term results — not just short-term relief.

For many patients, chiropractic care plays an important role in improving mobility, reducing pain, and getting back to daily activities with confidence

Your initial assessment sets the foundation for your entire treatment plan. As primary care providers, our physiotherapists and chiropractor are trained to be your first point of contact for injuries, joint pain, muscle issues, and movement concerns — no referral required.

During your assessment, we take the time to:
• Review your health history and current symptoms
• Assess joint motion, strength, flexibility, and movement patterns
• Examine the spine, muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments
• Perform functional tests to see how your injury affects daily activity
• Rule out red flags that may indicate a more serious condition
• Discuss your goals and build a plan tailored to your lifestyle

A thorough assessment leads to a more accurate diagnosis, targeted treatment, and faster recovery. Whether you’re dealing with a new injury or ongoing pain, getting the right assessment is the first step toward getting back to what you love.

Important note: If you do intend on any portion of your visit being covered by extended health benefits, be sure to check ahead of time if they require a referral. Our lovely team would be happy to help you call and/or direct you where to look.

Our bodies LOVE movement. Physiotherapy and chiropractic care can really help with injury rehab and overcoming pain, but they are nothing without therapeutic exercise.

Many of us have sedentary jobs, seated commutes, and spend too much time on activities that are largely inactive. If we can find some time through our day to prioritize movement, our bodies will thank us in the short and long term.

The stronger and more mobile we keep our bodies, the better they feel!

If pain or an injury have been keeping you from getting active, our physio and chiro team are excited to help you get back to the things you love.

How are you getting active this weekend?
