3 generations of our family were invited by the to attend their inaugural game as they honoured the Day One’s - iconic Canadian women who helped pave the way for women’s basketball in Canada.

One of those women was my grandmother, Kay MacBeth, a member of the legendary Edmonton Grads, widely recognized as Canada’s most successful women’s sport team in history.

My grandmother joined the team in 1939, at just 16 years old and played in the Grads’ final 2 seasons. She was also the last surviving member of the team, making this recognition especially meaningful for our family.

To experience this moment alongside my mum and daughter was something I’ll never forget. Thank you to the Tempo organization for celebrating these incredible women and their legacy. 🏀
