QUEBEC REOPENS A MAJOR PR PATHWAY 🇨🇦
Quebec has officially announced that its flagship permanent residence pathway, the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), will reopen on July 2, 2026! 🇨🇦
This is huge news for international graduates and foreign workers already living and working in Quebec who have been waiting for a clearer pathway to permanent residence.
✅ Applications will reopen from July 2, 2026
✅ The program is expected to remain available until July 2, 2028
✅ The first phase will prioritize individuals who were eligible before the program was suspended
✅ No application cap has been announced for the initial reopening phase
The PEQ has historically been one of the fastest and most popular routes to permanent residence for people with Quebec study or work experience. Its return creates a major opportunity for eligible candidates who want to make Canada their permanent home.
⚠️ However, not everyone will qualify. Eligibility requirements, timelines, French language requirements, and supporting documentation remain critical to a successful application.
If you're studying, working, or planning your future in Quebec, now is the time to review your options and prepare your application strategy.

BIG CHANGES TO ONTARIO IMMIGRATION: WHAT THIS MEANS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE APPLICANTS🇨🇦(Read this carefully)

Ontario has revoked all its provincial pathways to permanent residence, without putting into place any replacements.
On May 30, 2026, streams including Foreign Worker, International Student, Master’s Graduate, PhD Graduate, Human Capital Priorities, French-Speaking Skilled Worker, Skilled Trades, In-Demand Skills, and Entrepreneur have been removed from Ontario’s regulations.
✅ If you already submitted an application, it will continue to be processed under the rules in place when you applied.
So what comes next?
The province previously consulted stakeholders on a proposed redesign that would introduce four new immigration streams:
🔹 Employer Job Offer Stream (TEER 0–3)
Designed for skilled workers and recent graduates. Applicants may need a job offer meeting Ontario’s median wage, relevant work experience, or professional licensing depending on their situation.
🔹 Employer Job Offer Stream (TEER 4–5)
Focused on occupations requiring high school education and/or job-specific training. Labour shortage occupations are expected to receive priority consideration.
🔹 Priority Healthcare Stream
A dedicated pathway for regulated healthcare professionals such as nurses, medical technologists, and laboratory specialists. Notably, a job offer may not be required.
🔹 Entrepreneur Stream
Targeting individuals who establish new businesses or acquire and operate existing businesses in Ontario.
🔹 Exceptional Talent Stream
Created for highly accomplished individuals in research, innovation, science, technology, academia, and the creative industries who may not fit traditional immigration pathways
NOTE: Ontario has not yet confirmed launch dates, final eligibility requirements, or transition rules for candidates currently in the Expression of Interest pool. Until those details are released, applicants should closely monitor program updates and prepare documentation in advance.
