Hi, we’re Sol and Nash 👋

As siblings who have lived in Durham Region our entire lives, we created The Aftermarket as a way to build something for the Oshawa community while creating opportunities for local artists, makers, food vendors, and entrepreneurs.

After years of working at, participating in, and visiting markets across the region, we noticed a gap. There were plenty of places to sell products, but not many spaces intentionally designed to help people turn ideas, hobbies, and side hustles into real businesses.

Located on Victoria Street in Downtown Oshawa, The Aftermarket transforms an underused space into a weekly gathering place for local food, art, music, design, and small business. It gives entrepreneurs an opportunity to meet customers face to face, test ideas, and grow.

Sol is a senior product and visual designer with more than ten years of experience in branding, marketing, and design. Nash is an industrial designer and founder of Tachiqui®️, an Oshawa-based frozen empanada company.

The Aftermarket is designed to complement the businesses, venues, and experiences that already make downtown Oshawa special. Our goal is simple: bring more people downtown and encourage them to explore everything the city has to offer.

Running Saturdays from 4 PM to 9 PM, the market begins in daylight and winds down as the sun sets over the city.

The Aftermarket lives somewhere between a market and a night out. We believe people are looking for more than a place to shop. They’re looking for an experience. That’s why we focus on curating a mix of vendors, food, music, and atmosphere that encourages people to slow down, stay awhile, and enjoy some of the best local talent Durham Region has to offer.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been getting to know the people behind the businesses that make Durham Region special. What starts as supporting a local business often turns into a friendship.
