January 15th marks black excellence day. As the American aphorism goes: "As a black person in white America, you've got to work twice as hard to get half as far." Needless to say, this statement transcends nations, cultures, historical time periods, etc. Today is a day where black people can be applauded and commemorated for their success through struggles.
