Great trip to Toronto to stay at The Royal Canadian Yacht Club and to take Eve on the rides at Centreville. She loved the rides and the animals and powered right through nap with funnel cake and adrenaline, but eventually the crash came and she passed out in the wagon.
We had a great sail back to Hamilton

Finally got to take the boat out for a leisurely sail with the family! Eve is becoming a little sailor! 🇨🇦⛵️

We made it to Hamilton! It was a very calm and foggy day, so we had to motor the whole way to try and beat a thunderstorm. We arrived at the bridge just in time for it to open, so we could enter Hamilton Harbour.

Overall, it was an awesome trip, but I’m glad we’re here in our new slip for the season!

I had an absolutely lovely 2-day stay at the Port Dover Yacht Club. It was good to finally take a full day off and have some downtime and get some boat chores done. The members at the club were super friendly, and I had a great time hanging out with them. Thankfully, the lake was calm today, but that meant motoring all the way to Port Colborne to get ready to go down the Canal and into Lake Ontario on Tuesday.

Day 10: Much more enjoyable day on the lake today! Had a comfortable and fast upwind sail to Erie, PA. Did not have the issue with the flies today thankfully. I wonder if it’s because there was more wind coming over the boat? Anyway I dropped anchor in Presque Isle State Park which is a rather nice picturesque and very well protected anchorage.
This will be my last stop in America. 🇺🇸🦅 I cross back over tomorrow morning to land in Port Dover for the Friday the 13th bike rally 🏍️🏴‍☠️🇨🇦

Had a long day today. Went a little further than originally planned. Wound up anchoring in a place called Conneaut in order to take advantage of the good wind conditions and make tomorrow’s trip upwind a little shorter.
I got absolutely swarmed by thousands of biting stable flies on the lake today. They were all over the boat completely covering everything and I pretty much just had to live with them day 😡
I’ll be bashing into wind and waves tomorrow so I doubt I’ll have to deal with the flies again 🤞
