As I stood alone in the middle of the Masai Mara, watching the sun rise over the vast African savannah, I knew I had made the right decision. For the first time in my life, I followed my heart and ignored the rules set by society.
In 2013, during my job at an Indian MNC, a friend offered me an opportunity to visit him in Kenya. At first, the idea of traveling alone as a woman seemed daunting, especially seeing how the people around me reacted, but the prospect of experiencing the best African Safari in the world exhilarated me, and I planned the journey of a lifetime.
During those 13 days, I discovered a newfound sense of independence and self-reliance. I navigated unfamiliar territory, met new people, and had experiences that I never thought possible. This journey taught me to be my own rainbow and inspired me to pursue my dreams fearlessly.
That newfound courage and determination led me to take on new challenges in my career, and today, as the AVP of Business Architecture in DLT Labs, I am proud to lead a team of talented individuals. I've learned that by following my passions and trusting my instincts, I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
So, to all the women out there, be your own rainbow. Follow your dreams, chase your passions, and don't let anyone tell you that you can't. Happy Women's Day!
