Macaroni & cheese is the ultimate comfort food, so we’re adding a little extra cheese in celebration of National Mac & Cheese Day.

Every morning, Chef Drew arrives before most people have even woken up to start preparing nourishing meals for more than a hundred people each day. These meals are shared freely with our visitors, many of whom are experiencing food insecurity, poverty, and social isolation.

For some, a meal at Fontbonne may be one of the few opportunities they have each day to enjoy a warm plate of food and connect with others in a welcoming space.

Emma, one of our frequent visitors, recently shared what being part of the Fontbonne community means to her:

“It’s a nice thing, giving a meal to people who don’t have it,” Emma said at a recent Fontbonne event. “There’s a beautiful culture here that makes everyone happy.”

For 26 years, Fontbonne has remained committed to making sure that every meal is served in a place where people can build relationships, find belonging, and experience the dignity of being welcomed and valued.

Together, we are not only providing food—we are fostering hope, dignity, and connection.❤️

It’s National French Fry Day, so we’re celebrating with something golden, crispy, and delicious!

Drew, our talented Chef & Food Program Coordinator, uses fresh, locally grown produce to prepare hearty meals for our community, creating a welcoming place where people can enjoy good food and connection.

Here’s what one of our visitors recently shared about what a Fontbonne meal means to them:

“This is pretty good. (Fontbonne) goes out of their way to do this,” said Robert at a recent Fontbonne BBQ. “It’s a meal I wouldn’t have otherwise, with a pretty friendly community.”

We’re grateful to be part of a community that cares for one another. Through shared meals, kindness, and connection, we continue working alongside our neighbours to build stronger, healthier communities where everyone feels welcome. ❤️
