It shows whether your feeding program is working, whether your ewes are milking and raising lambs efficiently, and whether your genetics and management are producing healthy, fast-growing animals. For our breeding program it also help evaluate parasite resistance in the ewe flock.

Rex Crawford DVM. has returned for the 2026 to do the annual fertility testing of this years 69 yearling Pure Bred Rideau Rams . The tissue samples are also being submitted to have these rams screened for genetic resistance to Scrapie and O.P.P ( Maedi Visna). These are the first tests since last years Canadian Performance testing in the process of finding the Rideau rams that have strong parasite resistance for the breeding program.
