Adifferent take on Policing Surrey

Every Candidate is through in additional policing number for the city of Surrey to impress voters.

We need to have an enhanced gang task force for the city of Surrey, followed by Surrey’s own police force. Simply adding more cops won't solve gang crime in surrey. We need to learn from other major cities that have successfuly eliminated the gang crime and then come up with a plan that fits surrey's need. Every candidate through in some additional policing numbers to impress voters. The truth is that you could have an officer in every street and still see that crime happens. Let’s face it, gang crimes are happening in the broad day light in the populous neighborhoods. One thing that is quite necessary is to have an enhanced gang task force followed by Surrey’s own police force. Hiring 100’s of extra officers is an irresponsible waste of tax payer’s money and will not reduce gang crime. Looking at our neighbor in the south you realized that although they have a high number of police officer as a percentage of the populations there are still more crime as a percentage of their population. As for non-gang crime the Surrey council has a duty to address the root cause of the crime that is mainly related to social issues such as homelessness, lack of access to basic services, addiction and mental health issue.
