At the start of the documentary "Michael Jordan To The Max"...

When you fall in love with something, practice no longer feels like practice. Work no longer feels like work. You start to live, breathe, eat and sleep the game -- you become maniacally obsessed.

The same is true in business: Until work and play become one, you will struggle to achieve anything. Nobody thrives doing something they hate.

Here's what "work" looks like for most people

It's separate from play, in fact, it's the exact opposite of play. It's torture.

Nothing great ever comes from this. Only mediocrity and depression.

Here's what "work" looks like for people who achieve big things

Work and play merge, they become one. They are indistinguishable from each other because they are the same thing.

I notice this pattern all the time...

People ask me: "Herman, you work a lot, but what do you do for fun?"

I shake my head... These people simply do not understand...

Work is fun, there is no other thing more fun than it.

I explain it to them and they still can't understand -- their brains have duality where work and play cannot exist as one.

Here's my advice to you:

If work and play are separate things for you, ask yourself why? Drill down into the reasoning and start to pull things apart until you figure out why work isn't play and how you can make it play.

Because I know that people will only succeed when work and play are the same thing and that only happens when their business comes from the heart
