Taking a critical look at the current literature on play, it is clear that play is more than just a fun pass time or way to occupy children’s time. Play gives children time, agency and it can be healing. Play is how we best prepare children for the future. Unfortunately, play is used as a marketing tool and implemented in ways that limit creativity and resilience.

In this workshop educators will:
-Learn about how to maximize creativity and resilience through play.
-Discuss barriers and how to work around those barriers.
-Think about ways to advocate for free play in the early years.

Often, paper is taken for-granted and overlooked. Paper is more than a material, it’s a language. The possibilities of paper are endless allowing children to transform their ideas into tangible creations. From mark-making to folding, tearing, layering, and constructing, paper becomes a medium through which children think, communicate, and make meaning. Join us to rediscover the true value and potential of paper by exploring it ourselves.
