⭐ Sweet Memories & 5-Star Reviews! ⭐
Nothing warms my heart quite like hearing that my baking reminds you of home. Lately, the love you’ve been sharing for my Banana Bread and my Great Gramma’s Butter Tart Recipe has been absolutely overwhelming!
When I’m in the kitchen, I’m not just following a recipe—especially with those butter tarts. I’m honoring a family legacy. Using real ingredients and a whole lot of patience is my way of keeping that "made from scratch" tradition alive. Knowing that they’ve earned a 5-star spot in your hearts (and bellies!) is the greatest compliment I could receive.
Thank You for Sharing the Love!
To everyone who has taken a moment to leave a review or send a kind message—thank you! Your support helps me keep my oven preheated and my homestead growing.
What’s your favorite? Are you team "classic Banana Bread" or is it all about that flaky crust on Gramma’s Butter Tarts? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! 🍌🥧

⭐ My Heart is Full! Thank You for the 5-Star Love! ⭐
There is no better feeling than knowing the food I pour my soul into is bringing joy to your homes. I’ve been reading through your latest reviews, and seeing such high praise for my Handmade Perogies and Signature Sourdough Bread has me smiling ear to ear!
As a small-scale homesteader, I don't take shortcuts. My sourdough takes days of patient fermenting to get that perfect crust and tang, and my perogies are pinched one by one with the same care I’d use for my own family. Knowing you can taste that difference is why I keep the flour flying in my kitchen!
A Huge Thank You!
To everyone who has taken a moment to leave a 5-star review—thank you! Your support helps me keep my homestead running and ensures that real, slow-made food stays available in our community.
Have you tried the sourdough or perogies yet? If you’ve enjoyed them, I’d love for you to share your experience! Your kind words are the best fuel for my long baking days. 🥖🥟

🌿 Finding Calm in the Chaos: April is Stress Awareness Month 🌿
Life on my urban homestead is beautiful, but let’s be real—it can also be a lot! Between managing two home business’, prepping the garden, and keeping up with the daily "to-do" list, stress has a way of sneaking up on us.
Since April is Stress Awareness Month, I wanted to take a moment to talk about the importance of slowing down. For me, homesteading isn't just about production; it's about a lifestyle that allows us to breathe.
My Favorite "Homestead Stress-Busters":
I plan out my week every Sunday night and put everything in my phone calander (I’m terrible with leaving my paper lists at home!)
Hands in the Dirt: There is something scientifically healing about soil! Starting seeds is my version of meditation.
Baking Therapy: The rhythmic kneading of sourdough is the ultimate way to process a heavy day.
Simplifying the "Must-Dos": Using my freezer meals (see my last post!) is a huge help, I also batch everything saving me huge time!
Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Whether you live on an acre or in an apartment, find your "homestead" moment today and let that stress go. 🕊️
How do you decompress when things get overwhelming? I’d love to hear your tips in the comments below! 👇

🧺 Less Time in the Kitchen, More Time in the Sunshine! ☀️
The days are getting longer, and here at The Hillview Homesteader, that "outdoor itch" is officially here! Whether it’s prepping the garden beds, checking fences, or just enjoying a quiet coffee on the back deck, the last place I want to be when the weather is nice is stuck inside over a hot stove.
That’s why this week is all about Freezer Meal Prep! 🧊🍲
By dedicating just one day to getting ahead, I reclaim my month and keep my budget on track. Here is why it’s a total game-changer in my home:
💰 Saving Money: I always shop our pantry first, then buy the rest in bulk. Prepping everything the moment I get home means no more last-minute takeout or pricey "convenience" foods when the day runs long.
⏰ Reclaiming My Time: Batching your “list of things to do” is a huge time saver on your "future time". It might feel like a big job upfront, but when you “batch” cook, it becomes the difference between standing at the counter for an hour every night or being outside enjoying the sunset.
🌿 Zero Waste: This is the best way to use up bulk ingredients and garden harvests at their peak freshness, so nothing goes to waste.
😌 Stress-Free Evenings: After a long day of physical work, there is no better feeling than knowing a home-cooked, nutritious meal is ready to heat and eat.
I invested in a pressure canner and it has been a game-changer, saving space in my freezer. From hearty stews to pre-assembled casseroles, my freezer is my best friend during this spring transition!
✨ Need a head start for simple ingredient meals? Here is my go-to website that even comes with a pre-made grocery list to make your life easier: https://stockpilingmoms.com/20-slow-cooker-freezer-meals-in-4-hours/
