As always if anyone needs help evacuating themselves or their livestock dont hesitate to contact us any time 24/7.

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to Powers Creek wildfire (R31228), located approximately three kilometres south of the Town of Smithers.

The fire is currently 20 hectares in size and is displaying moderate to fast spread. Aerial and ground resources are responding, including airtankers, a helicopter and an Initial Attack crew. Heavy machinery and personnel will be working through the night and more firefighters will be arriving Saturday morning.

Smoke is highly visible from Highway 16 and surrounding communities.
