🎶💔They paved paradise and put up a parking lot💔🎶

Heartbroken.

We knew development around the heritage home was inevitable; however we should expect it to include consideration for ecology and history. 🏡

The natural aquifers/springs in and around this land is why it was chosen by our ancestors and before them, indigenous people, to settle.

We’ve become uncomfortable with the ‘work’ encroaching opposite the creek on the environmental reserve (ER).

This creek flows year round and is chock full of aquatic life. Including fish, frogs, and salamanders.

We’ve requested an inspection with Alberta Environment to ensure the developer is doing their due diligence with the protected waterway.

It’s all we can do.
