What’s your fav colour?

Showing up grateful today. These two men have taught me to bring out the best in myself.
Learning to be patient, forgiving and always kind is what my husband has taught me. He taught me to always take the higher road, and to lead with my heart, with loads of laughter to carry us through.
My father taught me to be fearless, persistent, unyielding, focused, driven, and never afraid to ask for what I need. The combination is what has produced what you see. Both have helped balance those sides of my fence. Ha! Depending on what day you see me, what task I’m accomplishing, where I’m heading or what I’m wanting, you will see the effects of these two. They are two of the people I look up to the most. They keep me sane and/or make me crazy but I have so much love and appreciation for them.

How would I describe our youngest? Resilient. How did I raise such a resilient daughter? I’m certainly not sure except we’ve allowed her to make mistakes, and allowed her to pick herself up, dust herself off and try again.
We let her lose. In soccer tournaments there are winners and losers. Trying out for sports teams, not everyone gets picked to earn a spot. Not all “friends” are kind. You may not get the job you really want.
The difference between being happy in life or not, is knowing a few things. A) keeping a positive mindset changes EVERYTHING.
B) if you REALLY want something, you need to work hard to achieve, master, learn better, and get after it.
C) Life’s not always fair. You can’t always control the ending but only the way you react. Plus....See above A & B
She’s a pretty cool person whose company i really enjoy. Her life is about to get very unsettled. But I am so proud of how she is handling the impending big changes. Smile on her face. Head up. Learning all that she can about what’s ahead for her— including the instruction manual to the new fireplace.

So I’m sitting here looking at ways to build our community, current and new one coming. And wonder what anyone else is doing?
Our focus needs to be in how we can encourage each other to make things better, to help each other with ideas, ex*****on and continuing ideas for our next generation to know how to create a strong community that people want to be a part of.
Tell me about what YOU are doing to create community — your mom communities, your church groups, your workplace gatherings, your neighbourhood, your kids sports and schooling.... what are YOU doing to make them better, stronger, uplifting and positive?
My neighborhood just had a new family move around the corner and they created a Facebook group for all of us in our ‘hood! It’s a place to touch base, to ask for help, to borrow an item or to let people know of important activity. I think it’s brilliant!!! Keeping us connected! We need to return to that small community feeling.
