Dr. Leslyn Lewis
I was honoured to present a petition signed by more than 15,000 Canadians concerning the proposed World Health Organization pandemic treaty and related amendments to the International Health Regulations.
Canadians want greater transparency, accountability, and parliamentary oversight before Canada ratifies international agreements that could have significant implications for our country.
Thank you to the thousands of Canadians who took the time to make their voices heard. In a democracy, major decisions should not be made behind closed doors but should be debated freely. Canadians deserve openness, scrutiny, and accountability from their government.

The Liberal government is moving to fast-track Bill C-22 (Lawful Access) by limiting committee scrutiny and restricting debate. Bill C-22 raises serious concerns about privacy, lawful access, and government power.
When legislation has the potential to affect the rights and freedoms of millions of Canadians, Parliament should be taking the time to get it right not shutting down meaningful review.
Democracy depends on transparency, accountability, and robust debate. Canadians deserve nothing less.

It was a pleasure to take part in the Dunnville Mudcat Festival Parade and celebrate one of the great traditions that brings our community together each year.
This year’s “Back to the 70s” theme brought plenty of fun, nostalgia, and community spirit to the streets of Dunnville. Events like the Mudcat Festival showcase the volunteerism, local pride, and strong sense of community that make Haldimand–Norfolk such a special place to call home.
Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, participants, and everyone who came out to make this year's festival a success. I always enjoy the opportunity to connect with residents, celebrate our community, and take part in the events that bring neighbours, families, and friends together.
As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into daily life, we must protect what makes us human.
Technology should strengthen human capability, not weaken human agency.
Canadians must never be reduced to data points, profiles, algorithms or QR codes.
The goal cannot simply be more technology.
It must be more opportunity that ensures workers, families and communities can participate in, and benefit from, the prosperity that innovation creates.
