What decides whether a buyer even gets out of the car? Early morning light on your exterior.

That light is unforgiving. It flattens good features and exaggerates neglect: chalky trim, dusty windows, spider webs in porch corners, patchy grass, oil stains on the drive, a front door that looks tired. Before anyone sees your kitchen or layout, they’ve already run a quick risk assessment.

My advice: check your house outside between 7 and 9 a.m., from the street and from the curb lane. If the entry doesn’t read clean, bright, and maintained in that light, fix that before anything else.
