I remember!!

In the 1965 Stanley Cup Finals, the Montreal Canadiens faced the Chicago Black Hawks in a series that would become a defining moment for goaltender Lorne "Gump" Worsley. After 12 years in the NHL, Worsley made his first Finals appearance and delivered an exceptional performance, recording two shutouts, including a crucial one in Game 7.

The series was characterized by home-ice dominance, with each team winning all their home games. The Canadiens clinched the championship by winning the decisive Game 7 at the Montreal Forum. Jean Béliveau, the team's captain, was instrumental throughout the playoffs, earning the inaugural Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP. He led the Canadiens with eight goals and eight assists over the course of the series.

Worsley's stellar goaltending was a cornerstone of the Canadiens' success, and his shutout in Game 7 remains a testament to his resilience and skill under pressure. This victory marked the Canadiens' 13th Stanley Cup championship and was a significant milestone in Worsley's illustrious career.
