Twenty-two years ago, Trevor and I were standing in a 7-Eleven, flipping through House & Home — Canada’s leading shelter magazine and a publication that has shaped our industry for decades. We remember looking at each other and asking, “Do you think we’ll ever be in this magazine one day?”

Today, after 22 years and countless projects shaped by incredible clients and trades who trusted us along the way, we find ourselves on our very first House & Home cover. It’s hard to put into words what this means. To many, it’s simply pages in a magazine that will be replaced next month. But for us, it represents something much deeper. Editorial recognition isn’t something you can buy — it’s earned. Your work is seen, critiqued, and ultimately placed alongside designers you’ve admired for years.

In many ways, this is a career milestone that reminds us how far a dream can travel when you keep saying yes, keep pushing forward, and keep believing — even when you’re told that building something meaningful from a smaller market won’t amount to much on a national stage.

We are incredibly proud to call Canada home and to be part of a community of designers whose work continues to raise the bar across the country and beyond. To now be included among those who have been invited to the cover is something we will always be deeply grateful for.

Brilliant photography by Eymeric Widling brought this project to life, but the story behind it is years in the making — long nights, missed vacations, time away from friends and family, and an unwavering commitment to doing the best work we possibly could.

We’re still a little shocked, to be honest. And even if it took 22 years, this moment means everything.

We hope that someone starting out — maybe flipping through this issue somewhere — sees it and realizes that building something from nothing is possible. One day, you might find yourself standing front and center on something you once only imagined.
