El Guantanamero Spanish Lessons

El Guantanamero Spanish Lessons is considering offering a spring contingent of classes with a beginner course offering. These lessons would occur in late May/June, but we need information from you!

Please comment below if you are interested noting the following:
- Preferance for Virtual or In-Person Session
- Preference for Day of Week (note 3)
- Preferance for Time or Day

Please feel free to comment if you would be interested in an intermediate course where you have previously attended the El Guantanamero Beginner Course - we would need a minimum of 10 students to provide this course.

We would love to hear from you and to our amazing previous students, we ask that you share this post broadly. Help us share our love of the Spanish language with Saskatoon and beyond!

After a bit of a hiatus, we are pleased to launch the summer session of El Guantanamero Spanish Lessons!

These evening classes will offer you the opportunity to engage in an introductory conversational Spanish course via Zoom! This course is designed for Spanish Language Beginners – if you are travelling to a Spanish speaking country or simply have interest in learning this beautiful language – this is the course is for you!

Your teacher will be Mably Llorente, a native Spanish speaker from Guantanamo, Cuba. Mably holds a Bachelors’ Degree majoring in English Language from the University of Oriente located in Santiago de Cuba. He has worked in the tourist industry, as Spanish-English Translator/Interpreter, and as a teacher of English as an Additional Language in Cuba. Mably was part of international exchange programs between the University of Alberta and the University of Oriente, located in the city of Santiago de Cuba, and mentored many Canadian Students in Spanish. In Canada, Mably works as a Financial Advisor and is excited to re-engage in his passion – teaching! His theatrical approach to teaching is sure to make you laugh and will undoubtedly support your learning!

Classes are open to individuals of all ages, but please note that a fun, bonus class will be provided for those who are 18+ to learn some Spanish slang - and maybe a few swears!

Comprehensive Summer Session: Monday and Wednesday Evenings for 3.5 Weeks beginning July 17, 2023, at 6:30-7:30PM (Sk Time)

- Bonus Class (18+) - Monday, August 7, 2023

Registration and Cost
- Classes will be offered online via Zoom and links will be shared the week prior to the beginning of the session. Attendees from near and far are welcome and remember that you can join from anywhere - including from the comfort of your cabin!
- Cost: $150 for 6 Week Course, including bonus class.

A note for all the El Guantanamero Graduates from previous courses that we are currently developing a second level course for launch in September of 2023. Message us now if you are interested in enrolling in this course as we fine-tune details!
