🏅 ProsthOlympics 2026! 🦷
Last Friday, our Year 2 DMD students traded textbooks for a bit of tooth-friendly competition in the ProsthOlympics — a fun and fast-paced afternoon of skill, speed, and smiles!
In the Fixed Prosthodontics arena, students took on:
🪥 Impressions
🧑🔧 Provisional stents
🔩 Abutment preparations
👑 Provisional crowns
Meanwhile, in Removable Prosthodontics, they tackled:
🎯 Impressions
📐 Cast framework design
🦷 Mouth preparations
🗂️ Tooth setup on a cast
It was a great way to sharpen their clinical skills, support each other, and build camaraderie — all while having a blast!
Where future dentists take their very first steps.
The newly reimagined Preclinic at the College of Dentistry is giving Year 1 and 2 DMD students an enhanced space to build confidence, develop foundational skills, and begin mastering clinical procedures before transitioning to patient care in their senior years.
Formerly located on the 5th floor of the Health Sciences Building, the new Preclinic has been relocated into the dental clinic building—bringing students closer to the clinical environment from day one. Equipped with modern technology, updated simulation stations, and redesigned learning spaces, the new facility is transforming how students learn and train.

Following Friday’s ribbon cutting, we’re proud to share a full video tour of the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry’s new state-of-the-art clinic—featuring insights from the Dean on the vision, renovation, and what this space makes possible today.
From advanced clinical technology to thoughtfully designed learning environments, this clinic represents a major step forward for dental education and patient care in Saskatchewan.
