Grace, Gratitude & Growth at Bethany Manor this July!

None of us are perfect - and the good news is, we don't need to be. This month we're leaning into grace, gratitude, and a little laughter (good medicine for the soul!). Perfectionism is more myth than reality, and chasing it only gets in the way of the peace God wants for us. We can treat ourselves with the same compassion we’d offer our dearest friend, remembering that being human means being wonderfully, imperfectly made in God’s image - fallible, forgiven, and loved.

We've celebrated Canada Day. We live in an amazing, beautiful country. And exciting news: our 110 main lobby renovation is almost complete, new flooring, lighting, and paint - made possible by the generosity of our wonderful donors. Thanks for your patience during construction.

A message from Jerry Letkeman, Executive Director:

March is that beautiful in-between season. Winter is still with us - snowy walkways and chilly winds - but the days are longer, the sun feels warmer, and signs of spring are quietly beginning to appear.

For Christians, this time often falls within the season of Lent - a period of reflection and renewal as we prepare our hearts for Easter. It reminds us that even in the quiet “winter” seasons of life, God is at work. As the biblical prophet to the exiled Hebrews writes:
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 NIV.

Living in community reminds us that faith is not only personal - it’s shared. Prayer strengthens us, fellowship sustains us, and gratitude lifts our spirits.

March also brings meaningful moments in Canada: International Women’s Day (March 8), Commonwealth Day (March 9), and Nutrition Month - all reminders to celebrate people, community, and caring for our bodies.

As we move through these final weeks of winter, may we take time to reflect, encourage one another, and look ahead with hope.

May this month bring peace, gratitude, and the promise of new life.
