Puppies are bundles of joy, but they don't come with off switches!

Sometimes, we accidentally rev them up during playtime, and they struggle to settle down afterwards.

Let's avoid those "puppy tornado" moments! 🌪️

🙅‍♂️🐾 Rough play alert: Wrestling on the ground with your puppy!

This can send their excitement levels skyrocketing, and it encourages those sharp, needley teeth to actually bite and chew our hands. Ouch!

To discourage biting and chewing during the teething phase, we need to opt for games that encourage appropriate biting and chewing.

The solution? Teach them the art of Tug!

Playing tug lets you bond with your puppy and encourages them to bite and chew on the right things. Plus, it's loads of fun! 😄

With appropriate tug, we can also teach our puppies valuable self control by introducing skills like "drop it" and "take it."

This is play with purpose!!!

So, trade those rough wrestles for engaging and purposeful tugs!

You can keep puppy playtime exciting and positively productive. 🐕❤️

Myth: “Once my dog improves, we’re done.”

Behavior change isn’t a one-time event.

You can absolutely make significant progress in aggression cases, but that progress is supported by the conditions around it.

Environment, management, stress levels, and consistency all play a role in whether that behavior holds over time.

If those conditions change, the behavior can shift with it. That doesn’t mean the training didn’t work. It means behavior is not static.

Long-term success comes from maintaining the pieces that supported that improvement, not assuming the problem is permanently gone.
