Yesterday, Officers with the SPS Equity and Cultural Engagement Unit (ECEU) hosted the 4th annual Peace and Respect Awards, on behalf of the SPS Indigenous Women and Two Spirit+ Advisory Circle.

The Peace and Respect Awards were created in 2023 as an initiative by the Advisory Circle and are open to grade 5 students in Saskatoon who are actively promoting peace and respect within their schools and communities. This year, we were proud to have 24 outstanding student recipients from 14 Saskatoon schools.

Thank our community partners: Saskatoon Public Schools, Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, and CUMFI who provided the snacks and lunch for the event. We would also like to thank Chief Cam McBride and her worship, Mayor Cynthia Block for their continued involvement in the event. Thank you to all the Advisory Circle members for your ongoing support and guidance.
