Another cold day, another reason to get the fire going ❄️

Our rule of thumb for mixing and matching styles is to find two that share some common design elements, then use colour and textiles to maintain a through-line. For example, I find that Craftsman homes work well with mid-century modern furniture because both feature clean lines, stained wood, and an appreciation for craftsmanship.

We love to create beautiful spaces, but always put function first.

To ensure our designs work hard for our clients, we start by getting to know their daily routines, what works well in their current space and what drives them crazy about it. We always plan for life as it’s lived 90% of the time, and ensure our designs can flex to suit the 10%, too.

This appliance cupboard is where form and function collide in our Hamilton Heritage Home project. The kitchen has a relatively small footprint, and we wanted to help it feel a bit bigger by reducing visual clutter. The appliance cupboard is the perfect solution - there when you want it, hidden away when you don’t. It keeps things close-at-hand without filling countertops, and blends seamlessly with the panel-ready refrigerator to its right.
