TCM with Neil
A lot of things we experience daily feel normal… until you realize they’re actually patterns.
In TCM, symptoms like fatigue, bloating, or cravings aren’t random. They’re signals about how your body is functioning. The body is always communicating, most of us just aren’t taught how to read it.

A Day in the Life of an Acupuncturist
Most of this work happens in the background.
The routine, the learning, the time spent trying to understand the body better, and then explaining it in a way that actually makes sense.
It’s not always visible, but it matters.

Acupressure for Neck Pain Relief | TCM Self-Care Tip
Woke up with neck pain after sleeping in an awkward position? In this video, I show you a helpful acupressure point located along the outer forearm between the wrist and elbow. Gently press and massage the most tender spot while slowly turning your neck in a circular motion.
This simple technique may help relieve stiffness and improve mobility. Try it gently and see the difference for yourself.
How Emotions Affect Your Organs in TCM | Mind and Body Connection
Did you know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, your emotions are closely connected to your internal organs?
Excess anger can affect the liver and lead to headaches or chest tightness. Anxiety and overthinking may disturb the heart, contributing to insomnia or palpitations. Worry can weaken the spleen and impact digestion. Grief may affect the lungs, causing shortness of breath and fatigue. Fear and shock are linked to the kidneys and may relate to lower back discomfort or urinary issues.
In TCM, emotional balance is not just mental, it is physical. When we take care of our emotions, we are also protecting our organs and overall health.
As we welcome 2026, I want to wish everyone a healthy and steady year ahead.
A new year is not only about new goals, but also about taking better care of ourselves, both physically and mentally. Small, consistent steps toward balance, rest, and recovery can make a meaningful difference over time.
Thank you to everyone who trusted me with their health over the past year. It has been a privilege to support you through healing, growth, and change.
May 2026 bring you strength, clarity, and good health. I look forward to continuing this journey together.
Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and fulfilling New Year!

Relief for Gym-Related Muscle Soreness with Gua Sha Scraping
This patient trains regularly and came in with deep muscle tightness and soreness from frequent workouts. I used Gua Sha, also known as scraping therapy, to help release muscle tension, improve circulation, and support faster recovery.
The redness you see is a normal response and a sign of increased blood flow to the area. After treatment, the muscle felt looser and movement was noticeably easier.
Gua Sha is especially helpful for people who lift weights, train hard, or deal with ongoing muscle stiffness. It supports recovery naturally and helps the body reset between workouts.
Consistent training deserves proper recovery.

On Nov 28, I had the opportunity to join an important roundtable hosted by BC MLA Teresa Wat, alongside members of the TCM community.
We discussed the provincial government’s proposed regulatory changes regarding prescribed Chinese medicine, which are expected to take effect next April. As someone deeply committed to the development and integrity of Traditional Chinese Medicine in British Columbia, I felt it was important to be there and to represent our industry’s perspective.
As the vice president of ATCMA, I shared my concerns I hear from our association's members. BC has always been one of the most advanced provinces in Canada in terms of TCM legislation and professional standards. It is crucial that any upcoming changes continue to protect patient safety while supporting the growth of our profession.
Thank you to MLA Teresa Wat for inviting me and for providing a platform where our voices can be heard. I will continue to advocate for our community and ensure that the value of TCM is recognized and preserved.

Trouble sleeping and also don't like needles? You can try ear seeds!
Many people say they sleep better or get fewer headaches after certain ear piercings. But did you know there is a real therapeutic method behind this in traditional Chinese medicine?
This patient came in with ongoing insomnia. After applying auricular acupuncture using ear seeds made from plant based materials or magnetic pellets, his sleep improved significantly. Acupuncture is not just needles. Ear seeds gently stimulate key points that help calm the nervous system, support the heart and spleen functions, and guide the body back into a restful rhythm.
Swipe to see the main ear points that can support better sleep, relaxation, and emotional balance.
If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, ear seed therapy may be a simple and effective option to try.

How Acupuncture Helps Regulate Menstrual Health Naturally
One of my patients came in with prolonged menstrual bleeding that had lasted for days. She had great results from acupuncture before, but this time, her symptoms returned after skipping post-treatment advice (yes, that includes over-consumption of alcohol and irregular meals).
After one more session, her condition improved again.
Acupuncture helps regulate the body’s energy flow, supports hormonal balance, and promotes natural recovery.
Remember, consistent care and healthy lifestyle choices go hand in hand for lasting results.
