Another friendly reminder:

The Saskatoon Pride Parade will be taking place this Sunday, June 28th.

Come join your union to walk in this fun-filled day of activities and performances.

This year, COPE 397 will have a float in the parade and we are very excited for this!

Even if you have never marched in the parade before, come join some of your fellow members in celebrating the 2sLGBTQA+ movement in Saskatchewan

Details:
• When: Sunday June 28, 2026, beginning at 10:30am
• Where: Underneath the College Drive Bridge – Spadina Ave (between the Sask NDP and SGI floats)
• What: Need help in carrying flags, handing out candy, decorating float (or just come show some pride)

If you are able to make it, or would like more information, email [email protected], but everyone is welcome to come join!

Note: Shoppers Drug Mart will also be setting up a glam station in the marshalling area for anyone requiring some additional sparkle!

Together we are STRONGER.

We're proud to celebrate World Public Services Day. A heartfelt thank you to all public sector workers — especially our members at Saskatchewan Government Insurance — for everything you do to serve our communities.

Paisley Project Event!

Our thanks to all that were able to join us at the event as we shared stories of Gus Anastasakis with his family and were able to provide Mosaic passes for members to enjoy the festival! We hope to make this an annual event!

📢 Congratulations to our members at the Amalgamated Transit Union in Calgary on successfully ratifying a new 3-year Collective Agreement!

This agreement includes several important gains, including:
✅ A commitment to a workplace free from harassment
✅ A guaranteed week off between Christmas and New Year's
✅ More flexible scheduling for part-time and casual members
✅ The addition of a Short-Term Disability plan
✅ A fully retroactive 9.5% wage increase over the life of the agreement

A huge thank you to the bargaining committee, our members at ATU, and the COPE 397 staff team for the hard work, dedication, and solidarity that made these improvements possible.

Together we are STRONGER.

Our own President, Jason Hicks, was proud to be invited last week to the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Provincial Council Annual General Meeting to participate in a panel discussion on member engagement, alongside Lisa Zunti of SEIU-West and Brahm Enslin of CUPW.

During the discussion, Jason emphasized that meaningful member engagement starts with empowering members and ensuring they have a real voice in their union. Unions are not simply a service provided to members—they are their members. When members are engaged, informed, and empowered, our movement is stronger.
