Father’s Day can be complicated after loss.

The world celebrates fathers holding little hands, hearing laughter from the next room, and making memories with children they can see and touch.

But there are fathers whose children exist in a different way.
Fathers who counted tiny fingers on an ultrasound screen.
Fathers who imagined first steps, first words, and future birthdays.
Fathers who carried hopes, dreams, and unconditional love for a child they would never get enough time with.
Their arms may be empty, but their hearts are not.

Grief does not make you any less of a father. The absence of your child does not erase your parenthood. Love does not end when a life ends.

To every father carrying the weight of what could have been, missing a child who should be here, and loving a baby who changed their life forever:
Your child knew your love.
Your child matters.
And so does your fatherhood.

Today, we honour the dads who parent through memory, through love, through grief, and through the unbreakable bond that death can never take away.

You are still a dad. Always have been. Always will be.

We'll also have lawn games and plenty of time to visit, connect, and build community with other families who understand the journey of pregnancy and infant loss.
