β€’ 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐑𝐨𝐭 β€’

I wasn’t sure if I was going to post this painting because I found many mistakes, but I don’t think you guys can see it. Or do you? Anyways ... You see, I am a perfectionist. Or I was anyway. Whenever I write notes and see that my writing is not decent or I find some mistakes, usually I take another paper, and I rewrite it again. You would say, why can’t she just use a correction tape/white ink when she makes a mistake? Well, because if I put a correction tape on top of my mistake, my mistake will still be there, and the correction tape would still be visible. And for a perfectionist, that can be irritating. Being a perfectionist is a progress killer. I have soo many artworks and notes that are not finished because I think it’s not perfect enough, and then I do it again and end up not having enough time or will to finish it. Chasing perfection leads to dissatisfaction. I can tell you that. I’m not saying aim low and do/submit something crappy. I'm saying that I’ve learned to accept any β€˜rusty spots’ that I might have (no one is perfect). I was about to give up during this painting because it doesn’t look like what I wanted it to look like. Many thoughts were rushing through my mind, reasons I should stop and why I should finish it. But while I was thinking, I was painting unconsciously, and it was starting to look β€˜good enough’ for me to continue. So I just had to trust the process and hope for the best. And if it didn’t turn out well, ooofff at least I tried. In the end, nothing is really perfect. I always remember that making progress always comes before perfection. Embrace all the mistakes you have because they will lead you to success. If you don’t know what it’s like to have mistakes and losses, you won’t know what success feels like. Just like you won't know happiness if you didn’t experience sadness. I think humans need to feel negative things for us to know what positive things feel like. Anyways, back to my topic about perfectionism. Instead of aiming for β€˜perfect’, aim for β€˜good enough.' You will thank yourself in the long run. Now that you’ve come this far, I hope you keep moving forward, moving on and don’t let perfectionism eat you. Remember, progress is πŸ”‘ to success. Oh, and don’t let the opinion of other people get into you because it's called β€˜opinion’ for a reason.

(If my grammar sucks, I'm not an English major, nor do I like writing essays πŸ™„, so don’t judge unless you’re a judge, charr ) k bye. I hope I didn’t waste your time.

P.S. I use correction tape more often now and would even use the correction tape to cross out a whole sentence and idgaf And having a bad handwriting doesn’t even bother me that much anymore 😌
