After observing some slime molds developing on some pieces of wood that I was reviving the moss on, I noticed that they seemed to congregate around an area that had freshly exposed wood fibers.
I decided to try an experiment with some branches that have been sitting in my work area for a couple of months now. I have created rough breaks as well as splitting some small twigs in half. I left as much of the lichen covered bark as I could but it was very dry and fragile.
I submerged one stick onto a jar of aerated aquarium water overnight and then the next day, I placed the dry pieces as well as the soaked piece onto a propagation tray. I then thoroughly sprayed down all the pieces and inner surfaces of the tray and humidity dome with aquarium water. I then placed the tray and dome under fluorescent lights. The lights are set to 12/12.
Every 24 to 48 hours I am going to take photographs and make observations on what reanimations and blooms occur.

If you have browsed some of the first pictures I posted, you may have noticed the hexagonal terrarium. I took some before, during, and after pictures and wanted to show you what can be done with something so hopeless and nasty looking.

If you have something like this and would like it resurrected or an old glass container given a second life by containing some err...life, message me and we'll go from there.

In the future, you will see the creation of desert to rainforest, as well as aquatic biotopes on top of formal and abstract creations.
I hope you enjoy
