Your cat HATES using a dirty bathroom.

Almost every cat owner has dealt with a cat urinating outside the litterbox at some point- including me! In fact, one of the reasons I got into cat behavioue was because I had to make the devastating decision to euthanize my very first cat, Jules, because of inappropriate urination. Peeing outside the litterbox is, by far, the number 1 behaviour problem I do consults for. It can be a complex issue with many related factors, but there's always one place to start: cleanliness.

Your cat wants you to scoop their litterbox EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Just like you would be hesitant to use a bathroom that's toilet isn't ever flushed, your cat does not enjoy a dirty litterbox.

I truely wish someone had really enforced this basic information to me as a new cat owner. My best buddy Jules would probably still be with me, and I wouldn't have to live with the fact that I could have changed his life with 2 minutes a day of litterbox maintenance.
