As of May 31, 2026, here are the Active Tuberculosis (TB) numbers specific to NITHA communities.

There is no new Active TB diagnosis’ to report from May 1st to May 31st, 2026 in NITHA communities.

There are currently 47 Individuals receiving treatment for Active TB in NITHA communities.

Note: The NITHA Dashboard reflects lab-confirmed cases ONLY. Reported numbers do not include individuals who are diagnosed with Latent TB Infection or those being treated for Latent TB Infection. Pediatric cases is now 0-14 years.

Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) public health officials advise northern residents that diagnosis’ of TB are increasing in northern Saskatchewan. TB is 100% preventable and treatable. Encouraging those to are symptomatic or those who have been exposed to someone with suspected or confirmed Active TB to complete screening will help decrease the spread of TB. NITHA is comprised of the Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, and Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) is seeking a Researcher to support impactful projects like the Cancer Project.

Work alongside internal teams and First Nations Partners to plan, coordinate, and evaluate research initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

✔ Degree in social sciences or related field
✔ Research & data analysis experience (2+ years preferred)
✔ Knowledge of OCAP principles
✔ Strong analytical, ethical, and communication skills

Experience with First Nations organizations is an asset.
