Psalm 133 🎶 HINEH MA TOV 🔴 LIVE at the TOWER of DAVID, Jerusalem - Joshua Aaron | Messianic Worship 06/10/2026

This weeks 🙌🏾 is taken from last weeks sermon, as Pastor Ken referenced Psalm 133.

"How good and how pleasant it is that brothers dwell together."

Hine (or Hinay or Hinei) Ma Tov (Hebrew: הִנֵּה מַה טוֹב) is a Jewish hymn traditionally sung at Shabbat feasts.

We don’t know exactly when David composed this song, but one likely occasion was when David was finally received as king over all the tribes of Israel, ending a terrible season of national division and discord.

“It could date from the crowning of David at Hebron when the leaders of the nation were, for a time at least, of one heart and mind (see 2 Samuel 5:1; 1 Chronicles 12:38-40).” (James Montgomery Boice)

Psalm 133:1-3 (NLT) 1 A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. A psalm of David. How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! 2 For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. 3 Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the LORD has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

❤️ Looking Back with Gratitude. Looking Ahead with Hope. ❤️

Recently, we asked: “What is your favourite memory of PORT BIC Church?” The responses were a beautiful reminder that a church is so much more than a building—it’s a family.

We heard stories of baptisms, baby dedications, Pioneer Girls in the church basement, and generations growing up together in faith.

One person shared:
“We were married, my husband was baptized, all three of our children were dedicated, and our daughter was baptized here by Pastor Brian Lofthouse.”

Another remembered being baptized at just 8 years old by Pastor Stickley.

These stories remind us that every generation has helped shape the story of PORT BIC.

As we celebrate these precious memories, we are also excited about what God is doing next.

We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Mack to our staff team. Sarah will be helping us strengthen pathways of discipleship from birth through young adulthood.

The same church that has blessed generations with meaningful memories is continuing to invest in the generations to come.

Ancient town cursed by Jesus yields a stunning 1,500‑year‑old discovery ✨🔵

12‑year‑old Alon Horowitz found a rare Nicolo gemstone during a community dig at Korazim National Park near the Sea of Galilee — just minutes before the team finished their three‑day excavation. Likely from Roman–Byzantine jewelry, this blue agate dates back at least 1,500 years and is a gorgeous reminder that history still surprises us. 🏺🌊

Korazim — named in Matthew 11 and Luke 10 as one of the towns Jesus rebuked — was a thriving Jewish village from the end of the Second Temple period through the medieval era. 📜🕯️

“Then Jesus began to denounce the towns where he had done so many of his miracles, because they hadn’t repented of their sins and turned to God. “What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse. I tell you, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on judgment day than you.”

Matthew 11:20-22 (NLT)

“What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse. Yes, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on judgment day than you.”

Luke 10:13-14 (NLT)

Thank you, PORT BIC Church! Because of your generosity, 61 pounds of food and supplies were collected for Port Cares in May to help support people in our community. Every donation is a reminder that when we come together, we can make a real difference.

In June, our most urgent needs are:

• Grocery trolleys
• Sturdy backpacks

If you would like to contribute, please place items in the PORT Cares donation box in the church foyer.

At Port BIC Church, caring for our neighbours is one of the ways we put our faith into action. Thank you for helping us share God’s love in practical ways with those in our community.

“We are all so ready to go to books, to go to men, to go to ceremonies, to anything except to God… Consequently, the text does not say, ‘Let him ask books,’ nor ‘ask priests,’ but, ‘let him ask of God.’” (Spurgeon)

At PORT BIC Church, serving our community is at the heart ❤️ of who we are. We believe love is best shown through action—sharing meals, meeting needs, and walking alongside our neighbours in every season of life.

One of the ways we live this out is through Food with Friends, where on the 4th Tuesday of every month we serve a warm meal at the Guild Hall to those experiencing food scarcity. It’s a simple meal but it’s filled with dignity, conversation, and care.

We also support our community in many other ways:
• A Port Cares donation box in our foyer helps us respond to local needs throughout the year
• Dedicated volunteers serve faithfully through Port Thrift, helping provide affordable goods while supporting community outreach and MCC.
• We partner in mission work both globally and locally, including support for missionaries and organizations like Operation Mobilization and BIC Global.
• From September to May, we host Keenagers—a monthly meal and program created to encourage and celebrate seniors 50 +

Every one of these ministries reflects the same heart: people matter, and no one should be overlooked.

If you’re looking for a place to belong, grow, and serve alongside others, we would love to welcome you.
