Lake Huron Cladopora

Held in the palm, this little window to deep time catches the light like a memory. Lovingly hand‑polished to a glassy sheen, the stone reveals a honeycombed, tube‑like texture that reads like an ancient reef frozen in stone. Every line and subtle colour band tells of a shallow sea, slow mineral replacement, and the patient work of time and human hands.

---

The Story in the Stone
- Origin: Collected from the Lake Huron region.
- Finish: Hand‑polished to highlight internal patterns and bring out the contrast between matrix and fossil structures.
- Character: Smooth to the touch the living movement of this coral can be imagined in the patterns.

---

Why it Matters
- A piece of ancient life: The pattern evokes colonial marine organisms and reef textures, a reminder that this rock once hosted living communities.
- Craftsmanship meets geology: Polishing transforms a raw specimen into an object of both scientific interest and everyday beauty. The process reveals hidden details while preserving the fossil’s story.

A Closing Note
This piece is more than a polished stone — it’s a conversation starter, a tiny museum, and a keepsake of Lake Huron’s deep past. Whether you’re a collector, a curious nature lover, or someone who loves objects that carry stories, this fossil wears its history with quiet dignity.

🌊 Agatized Cladopora Fossil — Southern Lake Huron Treasure 🌊

Every so often, the shoreline offers up something that stops you in your tracks. This agatized Cladopora fossil—found along the southern stretch of Lake Huron—is one of those gifts from deep time.

Cladopora was an ancient branching coral that lived roughly 350–400 million years ago, back when this region was covered by a warm, shallow sea. What you see here are its delicate, feather‑like branches—each tiny radial pattern once part of a living colony swaying in prehistoric currents.

This specimen was hand‑polished with patience, water, and automotive sandpaper, slowly revealing the intricate structure hidden beneath each layer. With every pass, more of the coral’s exceptional detail emerged, almost like watching history come into focus.

There’s something grounding about holding a piece of the ancient world in your hand—something shaped by nature, time, and a little human care. The beauty that surrounds us, and quietly waits for our discovery, is everywhere. Sometimes all it takes is slowing down long enough to notice it.

I hope everyone has a moment to slow down and appreciate the gifts of nature.

✨ Three Styles. One Iconic Canadian Penny. Which one speaks to you? ✨

I’m so excited to share three unique ways to wear a little piece of Canadian history around your neck—each with its own personality, story, and charm.

🍁 Style #1 — Simple, Lightweight, and Full of Character
A single circulated penny, drilled with a tiny hole, hangs from an adjustable suede lanyard. That’s it—clean, casual, and unbelievably lightweight.
Every penny has lived a life of its own, passing through countless Canadian hands before becoming a keepsake.
$15 each

🔧 Style #2 — Stainless Steel Elegance with Custom Flair
If you love something polished and durable, this style is for you.
Your chosen penny is set into a stainless steel tray—perfect for anyone with skin sensitivities—and paired with a sturdy stainless steel chain.
Choose from a selection of decorative bales to make it truly yours.

🪨 Style #3 — Canadian Stone + Penny = Wearable Art
These are my passion pieces.
Each pendant begins as a raw piece of the Canadian Shield — granite, gneiss, basalt, limestone, and more—shaped, polished, and paired with a penny to create a one-of-a-kind work of art.
They’re technically challenging, deeply rewarding, and made in very limited quantities.
Every one is a labour of love.
