. Meet today’s Melody😻
Name: Melody
Age: 5 years
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Colour: Brown/White
Location: Petsmart Stockyards
Meet 🎶Melody🎶 - used to performing outside with a band of cats. She’s not made to sing for her supper and made her way to AVA. Since being in rescue she’s learning she’s not made to be a solo act and needs a fur-iendly cat to make a purr-fect duet. Melody is looking for a home where she can hit the right note where she can adjust to indoor living.
Melody is a sweet but shy girl looking for a calm and patient home where she can tune in. While she’s still learning to trust people, she’s started to hit the notes with gentle chin and head scratches. Melody will hum in a peaceful home with adopters who understand that building confidence takes time, but the crescendo is tremendously rewarding.
With patience, kindness, and a quiet audience, Melody has every potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion, ready to hit the high notes and steal the show (and your heart).

Meet today’s Pinot Noir! 🐈⬛🖤
Name: Pinot Noir
Age: 1 year 3 months
Breed: Domestic Shorthair/Mix
Colour: Black
Location: PetSmart Colossus
Pinot Noir was captured when she was in the middle of giving birth in a bin in the recycling plant. She was a dedicated mother of 3 and the surrogate mother of 3 other newborns found at the same time but without their momma.
Pinot was a diligent and protective momma to 6 rambunctious and frisky kittens, and it was exhausting to be in the midst of such constant chaos, as evidenced by the video! But momma's love conquered all and her babies are now quickly off to enjoy their new families. It's Pinot's turn to relax, take a long breather, and focus her attention on being spoiled with yummy food, plush beds, and soft pets when she is feeling the mood.
Pinot is a naturally calm cat who doesn't mind the presence of people, but is still wary or reaching hands and quick motions. She would hang out a foot away from the humans, and stand by quietly waiting while her meals are being prepared. If the person gets too close or moves too fast, Pinot will give a small hiss of protest and a flashing paw if the warning is not heeded. However, she recently had a breakthrough and allowed gentle head scritches when she was feeling particularly secure and relaxed. Baby steps that will turn into big strides as this mommacat ceases her maternal responsibilities and finally settles down to enjoy life.
Like the fine wine she is named after, Pinot Noir will mellow and fully bloom into her best self with patience and time. She would do well in a quiet home without young children, and with other equally sedate and peace-loving cats happy to be her companion and chill buddy. This smart and confidently observant cat will gradually open up to the patient handling of people willing to offer her time, love, yummy food, and a lot of space.
