Group from Chilliwack, B.C., launches Canadian social media platform A group of alumni from the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia has launched a new Canadian social media platform they say will provide a "homegrown alternative to U.S.-dominated" sites.

Detecting deepfakes is becoming increasingly challenging as content becomes more widespread and realistic, and the sheer volume of synthetic content online and in the media makes it difficult to sift through it all. However, there are several ways that deepfakes can be detected.
